Meet our Bishop

Bishop John D. Perry II serves as the Senior Pastor of Pleasant Grove Church, bringing over 30 years of devoted ministry to Cary, North Carolina. A native of Jacksonville, Florida, Bishop Perry was elected to lead our family of believers in October 2023 after serving for 17 years as the Pastor of Mt. Sinai MBC in Georgia.

Known as a results-driven leader and a catalyst for positive change, Bishop Perry holds a Doctorate in Christian Education from Jacksonville Theological Seminary. His leadership extends far beyond the pulpit; he is a published author of five books, a certified Anger Management Trainer, and a former NAACP Chapter President. Whether through workforce reintegration initiatives or spiritual study, his mission is rooted in the philosophy that “potential undeveloped is a possibility unrealized.”

Bishop Perry is a compassionate advocate for radical love and grace, committed to helping every individual discover their divine purpose in Jesus Christ. He is happily married to Eboney M.
