Under the leadership of the Pastor the ministry supports the spiritual needs of the Church Body. In partnership with the Pastor, the deacons ensure the needs of the families of the church are met. Deacons at PGC are servants of the church and helpers to our pastor with the care of all disciples. This ministry is organized to model Christ, systematically care for all church families and individuals, and promote peace in all church ministries.
Every disciple and every family has two assigned deacons in the Deacon Family Ministry Plan. The more effectively the plan works at Pleasant Grove Church, the closer our church will come to being a real “Family in Christ”. Our deacons stand available to give support in times of crisis we can help you through the crisis by listening and giving support. Your deacons may be able to refer you to a community agency that can help.
We share encouragement and celebration with those who have experienced joyous times such as births, weddings, graduations, promotions, awards, and special accomplishments. We take the time to answer questions about your faith and our church. We encourage you to have fellowship with other disciples and families in the church. Deacons also help you find ways to serve in and through the church; deacons will watch for opportunities for you to use your God-given gifts, talents, and skills.
Deacons serve as teachers during our new disciple’s orientation classes. Our new disciple sessions are focused on building relationships with all disciples. We want to make sure all disciples have a smooth transition as they begin to settle in at Pleasant Grove Church. We start with an “Introduction Session”. Deacons then begin to share some basic truths. Our children and youth have separate age-appropriate New Disciple Sessions. Once all new disciples have completed these sessions, they will be scheduled for a pastoral meeting and then receive the Right Hand of Fellowship.
Deacons believe in the power of prayer; we pray for you and with you. Deacons will join with the Pastor and other deacons in praying for you and each member of your family. Deacons will also witness and pray with unsaved family members. One of our chief concerns is for every member in your family to know Jesus Christ as Savior.
Deacons help families move through challenges of life by strengthening their relationship with Jesus Christ. Deacons offer prayer, counsel, home, hospital, and extended care visitations, and gives attention to a person's distinct needs. In offering these kinds of support, we seek to demonstrate the love of Jesus in such a way that people in need come to love Him more and follow Him with a whole heart.
Faith & Service
The Evangelism Ministry strives to share the Word of God with all people through various means of communication. The Great Commission proclaims the gospel and salvation of Jesus Christ to all mankind. We want the lost to be found and those who are saved to be convicted and transformed to greater works.
Disciples of Jesus Christ are called to share His message of hope, love, and salvation; leading others to a life-transforming personal relationship with Him by the power of His Holy Spirit. Our Lord, Jesus Christ, calls us to share His promise of salvation to anyone who accepts him as their Lord and Savior.
The Evangelism Ministry works hand-in-hand with the Outreach Ministry to answer God’s call to reach and touch the lives of people, who may not know about the Love of God for them, and for the fact he has given his only begotten Son to save humanity from eternal damnation.
We are committed to equip and to empower our disciples by the Holy Spirit as we labor together to carry out the Vision and Mission that the Lord has given to us.
Faith & Service
The Christian Education Ministry aims to nurture believers, promote Bible study, and facilitate spiritual growth through the identification and development of spiritual gifts. Disciples of all ages have opportunities for learning and growth. This is essential for the development of spiritual maturity within our community.
Christian Education Ministry involves the administration and coordination of programs or strategies that facilitate the spiritual growth and discipleship of believers as they develop into the image of Jesus Christ.
The administration of the Christian Education Ministry requires collaboration among several people working at different levels and capacities. Our Pastor provides key leadership, but support from other ministers and teachers is crucial.

We are committed to living out our Mission Statement: “To go, make disciples, baptize and teach in the name of the Father and of the Son and the Holy Spirit” based on Matthew 28:19-20.
We understand the command GO involves moving beyond the traditional church body to working, witnessing, worshiping, and serving throughout the broader community of God’s people. Through the years, we have developed connections in our local and global community, which allow us at Pleasant Grove Church to lead and partner with other churches and agencies that serve the most vulnerable and marginalized.
Because of the education and equipping received through the teaching and preaching of the Word here at Pleasant Grove Chuch, the disciples can show the love and compassion of Jesus Christ to this dark and hurting world. We believe that the key to transforming lives for Jesus is through the context of the relationships we build.

Serves as a vital aspect of fostering a healthy and thriving church community. This ministry plays a significant role in promoting the overall well-being of the congregation and linking faith with practical aspects of life. Let's explore the importance of this ministry and the connection to the church and community.
The Health & Wellness Ministry embodies the idea of a holistic approach to ministry. They recognize that the well-being of individuals encompasses not only their spiritual life but also their physical, mental, and emotional health. By addressing these different facets of life, churches can better support their members in their journey of faith.
Churches with a ministry dedicated to health and wellness demonstrate a genuine concern for the well-being of their members beyond just spiritual matters. This level of care fosters a sense of community and encourages individuals to feel supported in all aspects of their lives.
Encouraging healthy living aligns with the principle of good stewardship. Taking care of one's body and health is viewed as responsible stewardship of the resources that have been given to each individual. It reflects a sense of gratitude and respect for the gift of life.
The Health & Wellness Ministry not only focuses on the health of church members but also seeks to connect with the broader community through health fairs, workshops, and other activities. This outreach provides an opportunity to show care and compassion to the community while also promoting the church's values.
Most ministries often serve as educational platforms within the church. By publishing materials like "To Your Better Health," they disseminate valuable information, empowering church members to make informed decisions about their health and lifestyle choices.
By encouraging and inspiring church members to prioritize healthy living, the Health & Wellness Ministry empowers disciples to take charge of their well-being. In doing so, they equip individuals to live healthier lives and be better equipped to fulfill their roles within the church and the community.
Proactively addressing health issues and promoting preventative care is a crucial aspect of this ministry. By doing so, they help prevent potential health crises and contribute to a healthier and more resilient congregation.

This ministry can be linked to the idea of nourishing both the body and the spirit of the congregation and the community they serve. By having a commercial kitchen with a dedicated hospitality component, churches can extend their outreach and impact in various ways.
The presence of a commercial kitchen allows churches to prepare and serve food for various events and gatherings within the congregation. Whether it's a weekly fellowship meal, special events, or community outreach programs, providing physical nourishment fosters a sense of togetherness and care within the church community. Sharing meals can strengthen relationships and create a welcoming atmosphere for both regular attendees and newcomers.
Beyond serving the congregation, churches with commercial kitchens can extend their hospitality to the broader community. By hosting events and meals for those in need, such as the homeless, underprivileged, or elderly, the church demonstrates its commitment to service and compassion. This kind of outreach can be an effective way to share love and kindness with those who may be struggling, and it opens doors for meaningful connections and potential spiritual discussions.
The connection between physical and spiritual nourishment is significant. When people are provided with a warm meal and a welcoming environment, they are more open to receiving spiritual guidance and teachings. The hospitality ministry team can engage in meaningful conversations, provide support, and create an environment where individuals feel comfortable discussing their spiritual needs and seeking guidance.
The presence of a hospitality ministry is essential in ensuring that the church's commercial kitchen adheres to all necessary regulations and guidelines. Compliance with federal, state, and local statutes demonstrates the church's commitment to safety, hygiene, and responsible food handling. This, in turn, enhances the church's reputation within the community and fosters trust in the services they provide.
A well-organized hospitality ministry can become a central pillar of the church's identity. It showcases the church's commitment to care, community, and outreach. As a result, the congregation can take pride in being part of a community that not only focuses on spiritual growth but also actively engages in the well-being of its members and neighbors.

The Trustee Ministry plays a vital role in the overall health and sustainability of the church. This ministry is responsible for managing all the church’s physical assets. This includes overseeing the maintenance of church property, managing designated funds, and ensuring that the church’s resources are used effectively to support its mission and vision. The Trustee Ministry must also support the church’s mission through responsible stewardship and maintain a safe and welcoming environment for the congregation.
Here are the key responsibilities for the Trustee Ministry
Maintaining and overseeing the church buildings and facilities. Ensuring that the church property is safe, clean, and well-maintained.
Keeping insurance policies up to date and ensuring the church is adequately covered. Handling legal matters related to church property and finances. Ensure that all legal documents including but not limited to the deed are securely stored.
Promoting responsible stewardship of the church’s resources. Encouraging the congregation to use their spiritual gifts and talents to support the church’s mission.
Assisting in the development and implementation of the church’s strategic plans. Ensuring that the church’s resources are aligned with its long-term goals.
To ensure the success of the Trustee Ministry, close coordination must be maintained with the Pastor, the Finance Ministry and Legal Advisers.
Faith & Service
At Pleasant Grove, we are dedicated to our mission of loving the Lord, serving God, and spreading His word. In today's digital age, technology has become an essential tool for fulfilling this mission by allowing us to connect with our community and reach beyond the church walls. Our unwavering commitment is to build God's church here on earth by fostering a strong, loving community and sharing the message of faith. As we connect with people on social media, sermon podcasts, and our Sunday Live Stream, we must keep an eye on how we can lead people to connect with the church in person and how the church can physically reach out to people in our community. We believe by embracing technology, we are not only adapting to the modern world but also fulfilling our divine mission to connect, serve, and spread the love of God.
In recent years, technology has revolutionized the way churches and ministries connect with their congregations and spread the message of faith.
Technology is not just a tool it is a catalyst for community building; it's a means to fulfill our mission more effectively and has a ubiquitous role in the presence of our church.
Technology, when harnessed for the higher purpose of building God's church on earth, becomes a powerful force for good. It enhances communication, deepens spiritual connections, and allows us to adapt and spread the gospel more effectively.
Through high-quality live streaming services, we can reach congregants who are unable to attend services physically. This ensures that no one is left behind in their spiritual journey.
The church maintains an active presence on social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. These platforms provide a space for our community to engage, share their experiences, and connect with fellow believers.
We use Zoom to conduct virtual church meetings, Bible studies, and prayer groups. This allows us to maintain a sense of togetherness even when physical gatherings are challenging.
The church employs secure and convenient payment platforms like PayPal, CashApp and Tithe.ly, enabling our congregation to make offerings and tithes online, supporting the ministry's financial needs.
Technology breaks down geographical barriers, making the message of God accessible to anyone with an internet connection.
Social media and online platforms help us foster a sense of community among our members, enabling them to support and pray for each other.
In challenging times, like the COVID-19 pandemic, technology ensures that ministry can continue without interruption.
Through online streaming and social media, we can reach individuals who may never have stepped into our physical church.
In the digital age, communication is key to building and strengthening our church community. Technology allows us to communicate instantaneously, bridging the physical distances that might separate us.
Through online streaming, our worship services become interactive experiences. Congregants can engage in real-time discussions, prayer requests, and share their thoughts and insights.
The reach of technology extends far beyond our local congregation. We can connect with individuals from different cultures and backgrounds, forging a diverse and inclusive global church.

Pleasant Grove, like many other churches, recognizes the importance of reclaiming the arts. The primary purpose of the Arts & Drama Ministry is to nurture and utilize the gifts God has given individual members of the PGC community. Doing this, they aim to glorify Jesus Christ and evangelize their community. Powerful media such as mime, music, and drama will convey the message of the Gospel.
Drama plays a crucial role in worship services. It can uniquely draw people to a saving relationship with Jesus by creating relatable stories. Using the Arts & Drama is also a great way to establish common ground with unbelievers, making it easier to share the Gospel.
Establishing an Arts and Drama Ministry involves developing artists and creative projects. Activities that are a part of this ministry include, but are not limited to:
The Arts and Drama Ministry is a powerful way to engage people, express faith, and impact lives within the PGC community and beyond!
